Dimuthu Attanayake is a reporter from Sri Lanka, currently pursuing a master’s degree in data journalism at Columbia Journalism School. She has experience reporting on economics, social inequality, politics, science, and geopolitics.

Kalohe Danbara is a master’s student at Columbia Journalism School. Originally from Southern California, she earned her B.A. in literature and writing from the University of California, San Diego. Jonathan de Bock is a graduate student at Columbia Journalism School. Originally from the Netherlands, he graduated from Leiden University with a bachelor’s degree in history and a master’s degree in modern history. His reporting interests include investigations, arts and culture and historical narratives.
Nic Duffy is a writer living in New York City. He is currently pursuing a master’s degree at Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism. He has previously written about photography.

Isabella Gaglione is a master’s student at Columbia Journalism School. She holds a B.A. in creative writing and media studies from Lafayette College, where she was editor-in-chief of the student newspaper. She is interested in hyper-local news and culture reporting. Find her on LinkedIn.

Natalie Jonas is a graduate student in the data program at Columbia Journalism School. She received a Hearst Journalism Award in feature writing in 2023. Her investigative work has been published in Salon, Truthout, Rolling Stone, among other outlets. She’s also contributed reports to OpenSecrets. Natalie’s interests include covering scientific fraud, corruption and private equity. She speaks German, French and English.

Julia Levine is from Bethesda, Maryland. She earned a B.A. from Dartmouth College and was the editor-in-chief of the school’s yearbook, The Aegis. Before coming to Columbia Journalism School, she was a reporter and photojournalist for the Cambridge Day. Find her on LinkedIn.

Laurie Mermet is a graduate student at Columbia Journalism School from Jupiter, Fla. She has a bachelor’s degree in multimedia journalism and a minor in public relations from Florida Atlantic University. She has freelanced for a few publications, primarily covering local government and climate change, and writing profiles. She wants to become a foreign correspondent for a renowned newspaper. Zoe Millán is a journalist from Bogotá, Colombia. She graduated in 2024 from the Universidad de los Andes, where she majored in political science and minored in creative writing. She is interested in long-form narratives with a focus on health and reproductive rights, labor, and religion.

Luiza Swierzawska was born and raised in Kraków, Poland. In 2019, she moved to the Netherlands, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in philosophy, politics and economics, and a master’s degree in applied data science. Before coming to Columbia Journalism School, Luiza worked at the United Nations Institute for Disarmament Research. She is interested in covering technology, and arts and culture.
